The exercises are taking place in western Iran near the Iraqi border.
The drills are staged amid continuing tensions between Iran and Western countries over Iran?s disputed nuclear program. Iran insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and has no military component.
Israel has recently announced it could use military force to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.
